Jeans, Jeans and More Jeans
Tear them, rip holes, sand them, sew on patches or cut off the waistband.
Jeans go beyond age, price and style barriers. Washes, embellishments, cut, leg openings and labels change
with the dictates of current fashion, but jeans themselves area staple in everyone's wardrobe.
Denim probably originated from a fabric from Nimmes, France (serge de Nimmes means "of Nimmes" --
which became denim).
In time cowboys, railroad workers and farmers adopted them for their rugged durability.
After WWII, jeans evolved into rebel wear for teens and then for the hippies. While the
'70s saw a multitude of styles and fabric treatments; the '80s brought out designer denim. Today jeans fit into high-end designer collections like Dolce & Gabbana and others.
